Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will set up a ‘disastrous recovery site’ as the company does not want to be victim of any kind of attack.
The company had approached Commerce Ministry to obtain approval to set up the disaster recovery site. TCS has been approved to set up its own recovery system. Its group firm TCS e-Serve at the DLF Special Economic Zone in Siruseri, Chennai, will work on setting up the recovery system.
“The TCS e-Serve International located at Siruseri SEZ (of DLF) approached us for setting up a disastrous recovery site and the Board of Approval has granted the same,” a senior Commerce Ministry official was quoted as saying.
According to sources, the government has approved for the project with a condition that ‘there will be no specific network connection exclusively for the same.’
